Photo and video have always been two of my favorite storytelling mediums. During my childhood, I spent countless afternoons filming short movies in my backyard with a scrappy iPod and any neighbor willing to play a role. When I got my first camera, that passion expanded into photography, starting with family portraits and eventually growing into professional work during high school. The visual is exquisite, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.

visual poetics

In college, I took an advanced poetry course called Visual Poetics, where we challenged and redefined what poetry could be. We explored a wide range of visual mediums and pushed ourselves creatively to produce our own work. The course culminated in an on-campus exhibition centered on themes of temporality and time. With my friend Isabel, I created a photographic documentation of the exhibition process. You can find that project here and embedded below.

I also created a short film in the style of Chantal Akerman’s News From Home that we watched for our class. The short film is below.
